Inactivation of Influenza Viruses with Heteropolyacids

چکیده

The antiviral activity of Keggin heteropolyacids (HPAs) against the human influenza A/California/07/09 (H1N1) pdm09 virus is studied in MDCK cell culture. Transmission electron microscopy reveals new features destruction viral particles by HPAs. A proton-anion model that considers main biochemical processes leading to enveloped viruses: depletion membrane cholesterol HPA anions, acidification M1 matrix protein protons medium, and anion lysis lipid membranes, proposed. Arrhenius dependences biological properties HPAs on temperature are predicted. general mechanism for formation high described, which underlined bilipid a effect biochemistry polyoxometalates.

Mechanism of inactivation of influenza viruses by immobilized hydrophobic polycations.

N,N-dodecyl,methyl-polyethylenimine coatings applied to solid surfaces have been shown by us to disinfect aqueous solutions of influenza viruses. Herein we elucidate the mechanism of this phenomenon. Infectivity-, protein-, RNA-, and scanning electron microscopy-based experiments reveal that, upon contact with the hydrophobic polycationic coating, influenza viruses (including pathogenic human a...

Inactivation of Viruses for Vaccines **

Several attempts have been made to use ionizing radiation as a means of inactivating viruses so that they can be employed as killed vaccines. Success has been achieved with a rabies virus, and trials have also been made with poliomyelitis virus.""7 These methods have not been used for practical purposes, partly because of their novelty, because of the expense in the original setting up of the e...

Effect of ozone on the inactivation of indoor airborne viruses with the COVID-19 virus approach: a systematic review

Background: Nowadays, the COVID-19 pandemic has become a global problem that new methods must be used to prevent it. The virus is highly contagious and is mainly transmitted through the air. Ozone is a powerful oxidant that can be used to inactivate a wide range of viruses that may be resistant to other disinfectants. The purpose of this study was to review the use and effect of ozone in inacti...

Reproduction of Influenza Viruses

Influenza A and B virus reproduction in the allantoic membrane of the intact chicken embryo was studied quantitatively with particle enumeration procedures. Virus particles were enumerated on the basis of two independent properties; capacity to infect and to cause hemagglutination. The infective property of influenza B virus (Lee) was even more unstable than that of influenza A virus (PR8). Ina...
